Today's Trail Notes...






Thursday March 22nd, 2012: It is soul-quenching to again hear the raging spring waters of the swollen Muskoka River and to feel the chilled flow dancing round my bare toes. The full smell of the forest floor, the damp pines and the fragrant cedars fill my heart and soul today. The Blue Jays - all 6 of them - have come to feast on peanuts at my windowsill - hungry to be fattened before their young broods make their appearance in the weeks ahead.
